The Construction Zone product line consists of 33 workstations, representing 25 different
skilled trades. Each workstation includes a ten hour, hands-on work experience and comes with
curriculum, tools, equipment, and supplies. Students work in teams, using the professional tools of each trade.
Curriculum with full color photographs guides the student through the hands-on activities
and provides information about the trade as a career. Each workstation is equipped with an
audio cassette player and an audio tape that follows the curriculum word for word to aid in
curriculum comprehension.
The Construction Zone enables students to explore the basic aspect of each craft and
understand how the different trades work together on a construction project. Students may find an aptitude for
a certain trade and pursue training for a career; they may discover a source of good summer
jobs through college; they will certainly acquire valuable life skills that will be useful in taking care of
a home.
