BRICKLAYER
(CZ013)
Students learn to mix their own mortar and learn to lay a course of brick. Students explore a variety of job tasks in laying a course of brick. Workstation includes instruction in laying, spacing, determining verticle or horizontal alignment, cutting, shaping, and notching to construct and repair. One student acts as the helper while the other lays a course of brick. The roles are then reversed. When finished they disassemble and clean up the workstation and tools.
CURRICULUM:
Curriculum manual is provided in a three-ring binder, with pages contained in page protectors. Easy to follow step by step activities are highlighted using full color photographs. Once introduced to career related information (job description, education and training requirements, job prospects, and income ranges) the student begins a "hands on" work experience, using professional tools of the trade to complete projects or tasks. An audio tape follows the manual word-for-word. Pre-and post tests, worksheets, answer sheets, and instructors guide.
