Students use tools and jigs to machine raw materials into finished products. They learn to
shape metal parts using a drill press, bending jig and drilling jig that will ensure accuracy and teach
the techniques of machine operations. Instructions include making computations related to
dimensions and layout of parts. Using bench tools and equipment, students make a padlock key ring from
aluminum. Special drilling jig and bending fixture is utilized. Apprenticeship programs and related
training are emphasized.
