Students learn how to apply tile to walls, floors, and ceilings. Workstation includes instruction
in spreading mastic and adhesive base and in cutting, arranging, and setting tile. Students explore
a variety of job tasks in setting a small section of tile on a piece of masonite by using the same tools
and materials used by a tile-setter. The student becomes acquainted with various methods of
tile application and the skills required.
TILE SETTER WORKSTATION
CURRICULUM:
Curriculum manual is provided in a three-ring binder,
with pages contained in page protectors. Easy to follow
step by step activities are highlighted using full
color photographs. Once introduced to career related
information (job description, education and training requirements,
job prospects, and income ranges) the student begins a
"hands on" work experience, using professional tools of the
trade to complete projects or tasks. An audio tape follows the
manual word-for-word. Pre-and post tests,
worksheets, answer sheets, and instructors guide.

TILE SETTER WORKSTATION:
Stand-up workstation with see-through locking tool
cabinet, padlock/key, supply drawer, power strip, and audio cassette
player with headphones.
TOOL CABINET:
Safety glasses, paper towel holder, can opener,
measuring spoon, notched mastic trowel, grout float, water
container, grout container, and mixing container.
EQUIPMENT/CONSUMABLE MATERIALS
Aprons, tile container, tile cutter, sponge, paper
towels, 2x2 ceramic tile in three colors, 3"x3" sheets of 1"x1"
ceramic tiles, grout, mastic, and hardboard panels.
